Sources: Weller Expected to Retire
By Matthew Murray, Roll Call
September 19, 2007
Besieged Rep. Jerry Weller (R-Ill.) is expected to announce as early as Thursday that he is retiring from Congress, weeks after a Chicago newspaper exposed his questionable land deals in Central America.
Republican sources, who confirmed Weller’s intentions, were uncertain late Wednesday about when Weller would announce his retirement decision.
